UK celebrities embark on fundraising missions to raise awareness of text donationsEric recently joined Amanda Holden in a charity bake-a-thon challenge. Amanda was one five British celebrities who set off on a series of fundraising challenges in a bid to raise awareness of JustTextGiving by Vodafone. The new free text donation service, launched in conjunction with JustGiving, can now be used by individuals to fundraise for charity.
Amanda Holden said: "I hope that by completing my challenge I'll encourage people from across the UK to sign up for their own JustTextGiving code and begin raising money for a charity close to their heart. There's never been an easier way for friends and family to support your fundraising activity."
People throughout the country were able to apply for a unique and personalised six-digit JustTextGiving Code (e.g. LUKE01) which was free to set up and run to raise funds for any registered charity. These codes were then worn during fun runs, posted on social network pages, tweeted about or sent to friends via email and text, to increase charitable donations. Every penny raised went straight to the fundraisers chosen charity and there was no cost for the donation text.
